Elisabeth Da Justa
By leaving things to chance, I passed an entrance examination to the prestigious school of art “Boulle” (Paris). I chose a program that led me to copper-plate engraving, working with copper and brass using burin in order to obtain highly professional prints. This was a very diverse program which allowed me to study drawing and volume while improving my methods of research and creation.
From interest to education, chance led me to the Leon Mignon school (Belgium) specializing in engraving on arms. There I worked with steel and a hammer-graver. I learnt technics such as inlay, chasing, bottom-hollow and animal scenes.
These programs taught me to combine creation and realisation.
Leaving things to chance and following my interests led to my work combining engraving on arms, prints and animal drawings.
My passion was born from chance.
Have a good visit.
